ADS-B devices help pilots say safe

FreeFlight systems recently released its XPLORER receiver.
The device is a datalink weather receiver with full ADS-¬B in-weather capabilities and traffic data when installed with a certified ADS-B Out transmitter. Company officials added that the XPLORER connects seamlessly to suitable displays, including the iPad.
Tim Taylor, CEO of FreeFlight, said with the ADS-B deadline and an installation capacity requirements on the horizon, it’s important aircraft owners purchase avionics that add value now while bringing them closer to NextGen compliance.
The device will allow pilots to meet the December 2019 equipage deadline required by NextGen.
NavWorx recently reported that it has installed NextGen transportation technology in general aviation aircraft. The ADS600-B allows pilots to remain updated while in the air on flight data and information services.
"We have done two provisional installations of the NavWorx ADS600-B in a Cessna Cardinal and a [Beechcraft] A36 Bonanza," said Dennis Sorber of Avionics 1st. "They are operating on Aspen Avionics and [Garmin] MX20 displays. Having flown these aircraft in the Dallas area, we find they provide excellent traffic info complete with bearing line."
NextGen and the equipment that meets its requirements are ensuring pilot safety while in the air. Those at the helm of aircraft are also encouraged to obtain pilot life insurance, no matter how safe conditions are, to protect family's finances.
