Jeppesen has recently teamed up with Garmin, one of the top names in the Global Positioning System industry, to provide its NavData navigation and charting services for Garmin's new GTN avionics systems, according to General Aviation News.
Garmin's system is designed specifically for the glass cockpit market. These new services can help pilots maneuver and better plan their flights, possibly decreasing the need for pilots life insurance claims. The partnership will provide customers with the choice of four separate data bundle options. The supported Garmin products include the GTN Series, G600, G500 and G50H, the media outlet reports.
Jeppesen hopes this new software will enable individuals who fly for fun, as well as for business, to rely on their cooperative services for all of their navigation needs, according to the company website.
Buying the product in a bundled fashion will allow potential customers to receive a discount that they would not normally get when purchasing items separately. For example, the full United States coverage for JeppView MFD's bundle solution may provide up to 71 percent savings over purchasing all the products individually, General Aviation News reports.
