Sporty's recently announced that it has released IFR glasses to be used in place of bulky training hoods, which offers more streamlined IFR training. The glasses are known as eFoggers and provide a way for trainees to never have to take their hands off the controls upon entering a cloud. The eFoggers are activiated with the flip of a switch and the pilot can continue to fly in a more realistic scenario. The glasses are made of aerospace-grade materials and are attached to a control box housing a nine-volt battery attached to a six foot long chord. "eFoggers make instrument training more effective," said Eric Radtke, president of Sporty's Academy. "Clearing up the glasses only after the student has leveled off at minimums, inadvertent IMC — these are just a couple of the new training scenarios that eFoggers make possible." In a separate announcement, Snap-on Industrial recently introduce three ratchets that meet foreign object damage and foreign material exclusion conformance. Company officials noted that these ratchets are ideal for aviators who need to meet those requirements. As aviation tools are continuing to make flying safer, only one thing will protect finances. Pilot life insurance is an ideal product for anyone in the general aviation community.
