According to the BBC, researchers in the United Kingdom recently suggested an increased nationwide investment in aerospace technology, including the possibility of solar powered and unmanned aircraft, in an attempt to make the nation a leader in emerging aerospace technology over the next 50 years.
According to the source, one concept design involved an unmanned aircraft capable of carrying 650 passengers and releasing smaller planes to bring passengers closer to multiple destinations on a single flight.
"These technologies may seem fanciful, but there is engineering research that shows that these technologies are feasible," Philippa Oldham, head of transport at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), told the source.
The suggested investment in aerospace technology comes from the IMechE, who say that the field presents a significant opportunity for manufacturing and technology fields in the United Kingdom, which have fallen behind other world powers, particularly in Asia.
While drone airplanes and automated technology have dominated the aircraft technology news recently, the need for talented and well-trained pilots remains significant. Pilots across all fields of aviation often employ a number of specific financial and assurance products to guarantee peace of mind. Financial planning for pilots can be complex, and many pilot insurance policies are designed to cover the specific nature of a life in aviation.
