Aviation International News reports that flight academies and schools all over the world are not only teaching prospective pilots about basic techniques, safety and pilot insurance information, but also encouraging greater enrollment for more professionals in aviation in the next 20 years.
The CAE's global academy, for example, is the world's largest flight academy system with 11 locations worldwide, producing about 1,800 new pilots annually in India, Malaysia, Australia, Canada, the United States, Europe and Africa, AIN reported.
Three training centers from Oxford Aviation's system offer pilot training as well, generating about 500 new pilots each year. The FlightSafety Academy in Florida trains 500 new pilots annually, while the Airline Transport Professionals' 26 locations across the United States produce about 3,900 pilots per year, AIN reported.
In addition, the CAE recently sold seven full-flight simulators and training devices, totaling 37 full-flight simulators distributed so far in the 2012 fiscal year - up more than 30 percent from 2011.
"Our simulator sales this past year reflect our global reach, in all regions of the world. Approximately 60 percent of the orders received this fiscal year come from Asia and Australia, 16 percent from the Middle East and Africa, 16 percent from the Americas and 8% from Europe," said Jeff Roberts, CAE's group president, civil simulation products, training and services. "We are proud to be the trusted partner to the world's airlines for the past 65 years, in emerging and legacy markets."
One flight training program in the United Arab Emirates purchased the Boeing 737NG simulator and training device to be deployed at its new ECFT airline training center in Dubai's commercial park, Dubai Silicon Oasis. InterGlobe has also purchased flight simulators and visual systems from the CAE, and will start using the technology in training by the end of 2012 in its training center in the National Capital Region, Delhi.
The Zhuhai flight training center purchased the CAE 7000 series flight simulator, training device and visual system for its training programs in 2013. The People's Republic of China is working with China Southern Airlines and CAE to upgrade its 16 training centers throughout the country with new flight simulator resources.
