Airline passengers stuck on plane for seven hours

According to ABC News, a recent passenger flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Newark, New Jersey, was delayed for more than seven hours due to a mechanical failure at Newark Airport that touched off a series of delays and ultimately brought traffic at nearby airports to a standstill because of the high number of diversions.
Passengers were stuck on the plane without food, water or operational bathroom facilities, and the situation became so tense that at one point, the pilot pleaded with the radio tower for police to board the plane because passengers were becoming so irate.
When a tracking device that monitors the plane's approach on the runway malfunctioned in Newark, a number of planes were diverted to nearby airports. At Bradley International Airport, near Hartford, Connecticut, the diversions backed up to the point of gridlock, and passengers were stuck. The airline could face stiff fines if investigators find them at fault for the incident.
Many pilots who fly commercially enjoy independent recreational flight as well. Aviation organizations often offer pilot insurance at discounted rates. These policies can cover risks that normal insurance policies don't account for, and can properly protect both your health and assets.
