The most recent issue of the Federal Aviation Administration's safety briefing is now available online.
The safety briefing is an FAA publication intended to bring pilots and other aviation industry members up-to-date on safety changes as well as ways to enhance their training and knowledge.
The May/June issue concerns the relationship between general aviation and the National Airspace System. Feature articles include a story about recent changes to the NOTAM System for NextGen as well as the hot-button issue of ways to improve pilot-controller communications. The edition also features its regular sections such as the Aviation News Roundup and Ask Medical Certification column.
Many pilots argue that reading publications such as the safety briefing as well as partaking in extended training are essential for keeping pilots vigilant about safety while flying as they become more experienced. Being aware of the best safety practices is important, but also having a backup plan, should they fall through, is essential. Life insurance for pilots can serve as the support system for families left behind when pilots pass away.
