Jet Aviation recently announced that it will be increasing maintenance capability at its newly acquired fixed-base operation in Houston's Hobby Airport. “We are supplementing our existing expert in-line and AOG support for aircraft of all types and sizes, by adding staff and resources to support Houston's growing large-cabin aircraft maintenance market,” said John Langevin, vice president of FBO operations in North America. The FBO will see additional technicians who have large-cabin experience. Jet Aviation officials said that it will also be adding equipment and tooling to support Gulfstream, Bombardier and Falcon aircraft operators, in addition to extra aircraft on ground and other items. Officials said that the seven technicians have a combined 176 years of experience. The maintenance will be conducted in a 30,000 square foot hangar. This is not the only aviation news hitting Texas. Last month, Ron Henriksen, an aviation enthusiast and businessman, began overseeing the construction of the world's largest fixed-base operation canopy at Henriksen Jet Center at Houston Executive Airport. The project has been entrusted to Weir Enterprises, which is also helping in construction of the 22,500 square foot terminal. The canopy will be 32,800 square feet and is expected to be completed next month. With the continual advancement of the aviation industry, pilots are always reminded to ensure their own future with pilot life insurance.
