NTSB offers new safety courses

The National Transportation Safety Board has announced that they will be offering two different classes over the following two months, one of which will directly relate to flgiht safety, according to the organization.
While the first course is about cognitive interviewing for accident investigators, the second course is about survival factors in aviation accidents and will inform airline safety crews, investigators and other officials about the specific safety maneuvers, precautions and equipment, which increase the likelihood of survival in an aviation accident by using case studies and other materials.
The course will be offered March 28 to 31 at the NTSB training center located on the outskirts of Washington, D.C., in Ashburn, Virginia.
Though spaces in both classes are limited, general members of the aviation community can attend the latter course on a space-available basis, which could be a good opportunity to learn more about plane accidents and the hazards that cause them.
Courses such as these two are excellent ways for pilots to continue broadening their knowledge, particularly in the area of safety. However, sometimes the most extensive training cannot prevent a fatal accident. Pilots should consider pilot insurance as a source to provide for their families should they be involved in a crash.
