Pilots might be able to take further safety precautions soon following the National Transportation Safety Board releasing short videos on five safety alerts for general aviation. The NTSB recently announced that its preparing the videos to cover the most common types of general aviation accidents and will be released this spring. "We see the same types of accidents over and over again," said NTSB Chairman Deborah Hersman. "What's especially tragic is that so many of these accidents are preventable." The videos will feature regional air safety investigators showing what they've learned over the years after observing various accidents they've encountered. Subjects of the video include how to watch and listen for signs of aircraft trouble, reducing the visual reference and avoiding aerodynamic stalls at low altitude. These subjects are the most common accidents seen among aviation crashes, in which 475 pilots and passengers lose their lives annually. Considering the many dangers that are present when navigating the skies, pilots should make sure they secure pilot insurance to prepare for any unexpected circumstances in the future.
