TSA not up to DSH standards

A federal investigation recently revealed the failure of the Transportation Security Administration to gather information about airport security breaches and adequately respond by making improvements to airport security. The investigation was in response to a number of security breaches at New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport in 2011.
The report concluded that the TSA failed to understand breaches occurring at many of the nation’s airports and failed to strengthen and improve aviation security where mistakes had been made, in particular, at the Newark airport.
"This report identifies a gaping hole in our airport security system and gives us a framework for how to improve security at Newark Liberty Airport and all across the country," stated Frank Lautenberg, vice chairman of the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee. "The recent attempt by al-Qaida to take down a U.S.-bound airliner showed us that terrorists are still determined to exploit aviation security gaps in order to attack America.”
The Department of Homeland Security plans to investigate further and ramp up security measures for the busy summer flying season. Airlines for America predicts there to be a record-breaking number of international flights this summer and TSA efforts need to be improved.
For those pilots meeting the season’s flight demand, pilot life insurance is a good way to prepare for the future and offer peace of mind while in the air.
