Airline sponsors college athletic teams

College athletics and flying are coming together this fall. Frontier Airlines recently announced they will be sponsoring three competing college athletic teams.
The football teams of Colorado State University, the University of Colorado, and the University of Wyoming will all reap benefits from having Frontier be called the school's official airline.
Fans can expect to see Frontier signage at football and basketball games for the next three years. Lucky fans can get their hands on promotional cards for discounted flights.
Vice president of marketing and branding Ian Arthur says supporting the three schools are important because they play such a crucial role to the community the airline calls home.
"Frontier employs many alumni of these three schools and we look forward to forming long-lasting partnerships to provide students, faculty and alumni with Frontier's different and better experience through athletic and academic partnerships and exclusive travel packages," says Arthur.
Other airlines have also established relationships with athletic teams. Last year, JetBlue became the official sponsor of the University of Texas and Boston College athletics.
