Catalina Island Air Show announced

The Catalina Island Air Show and Festival is scheduled for September 29 and 30 at Avalon Bay in southern California.
"Avalon Bay and Avalon Canyon form a natural amphitheater, creating an excellent spectator location from its hotels, beaches, balconies and boats," said Dan Teckenoff, the show’s coordinator. “Unlike other air shows located on tarmac, Avalon hosts a variety of recreational activities, shopping and restaurants. We are looking to create a 4th of July festive weekend event that brings our second-home owners, day and weekend visitors back to the island on an annual basis in late September."
The event's theme this year is 100 years of aviation history on Catalina Island, honoring Glenn Martin's cross-channel airplane flight. It was the first flight to take off from and land on water, the first flight at Catalina Island and, at the time, the longest flight in aviation history.
The airshow is set to entertain spectators of all ages with military, vintage and specialty aircraft air shows on September 29. The following day, fans will be able to inspect the aircraft for themselves up close.
Events like this are fun for the whole family. Pilot insurance is security for the families of those who take to the skies.
