The U.S. Navy recently awarded CSC a $60 million contract to run a naval aviation simulator training program as part of its ongoing defense mission.
CSC will provide the Navy certified naval aviation training instructors at four naval stations in Oceana and Norfolk in Virginia; and Jacksonville and Mayport in Florida. The goal of the partnerships is to create highly skilled aviators to support national defense objectives. Using collaborative training programs, live instruction and virtual technology, the Navy will be able to enhance its aviation training program while reducing its spending on training costs during the budget crisis.
“Our industry-leading collaborative training programs combine live, virtual and constructive training, which help reduce training costs while best preparing the men and women who serve during times of war and peace,” said Alan Weakley, president of CSC’s North American public sector defense group.
One important aspect of all aviation training is learning the importance of pilot insurance. Pilots should make sure they are protected against unexpected problems or inclement weather conditions while flying.
