A small plane recently crashed at the regional airport near Alamosa, Colorado, killing the pilot. The Cessna 337 crashed 2 miles south of Alamosa, on its way to Salida.
According to KRDO Alamosa, Colorado, the plane landed close to the San Luis Valley Regional Airport-Bergman Field. The Alamosa County Sheriff has identified the pilot as a member of the Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots. The source reported the ministry's blog reported Reverend Steve Dreher died in the crash. The cause of the crash is unknown and the Federal Aviation Administration is looking into the incident.
Similarly, two people were recently killed in a small plane crash in the everglades near Boyton Beach, Florida. NBC Miami reported that the two-seat plane was found in the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, and the two people flying the Cirrus SR-22 were both found dead. If the pilot in either crash had adequate insurance, surviving family members and loved ones would be protected from financial hardship in the event of such an unexpected death.
