Hawthorne adds FBO to MacArthur

Hawthorne Aviation, the second largest general aviation services and airport management company, announced to today the opening of a Fixed Base Operation for private jets at Long Island MacArthur Airport.
An FBO is a service center for jets and airplanes at an airport and generally offers private jet charters to the public. There are approximately 5,200 FBOs in the United States, according to StratoJets.
Hawthorne announced it will add a hangar up to 32,000 square feet and office space to the FBO at MacArthur. The office space will accommodate the latest ultra-long-range business jets and Boeing Business jets. Like most FBOs, Hawthorne will offer additional services for pilots, crew, passengers and owners, ranging from a sleep room and lounge for crew to a helicopter transfer to New York City, the Hamptons and other surrounding areas. The area offers a high demand for the FBO market, which Hawthorne is glad to fill.
"For private jet travelers, MacArthur Airport and our FBO is a smart alternative to the other airports in the metro New York City area that are congested and expensive,” said Steven Levesque, president and CEO of Hawthorne. "At MacArthur, taxi delays and ATC delays are almost unheard of - making for hassle-free and time-efficient travel. Jets can be at our ramp in five minutes from their wheels touching down, and departures are equally fast and hassle-free.”
