A Charleston, South Carolina-based aviation service company recently announced it acquired a controlling interest of a fixed-based operator of private jets in New Orleans.
AeroPremier, which operates at New Orleans Lakefront Airport, has come under the brand of Hawthorne Global Aviation Services. AeroPremier has more than 50,000 square feet of hangar space, which can accommodate aircraft up to the size of a Gulfstream 550.
Hawthorne, which was founded in 1932, provides services for the general aviation community. In the company's history, it has been involved in many aspects of aviation. In 2011, Moelis Capital Partners and Hawthorne merged to form Hawthorn Global Aviation Services.
“The newly renovated facility provides a first class gateway to New Orleans and is only 15 minutes from the heart of the city,” said Hawthorne President and CEO Steven Levesque about the acquisition. “We are pleased to have been able to add such a great facility on a major general aviation airport as our initial presence on the Gulf Coast.”
AeroPremier officials added that over the last year, the company has conducted renovations to the hangars and general aviation terminal at Lakefront Airport.
Pilots supporting the general aviation community should consider pilot life insurance.
