The Terre Haute International Airport in Indiana recently underwent some changes when a private company took over operations of the facility. Since the takeover, the company, Hoosier Aviation, has remodeled many sections of the airport to make the facility more appealing to travelers and help attract business clientele, Terre Haute Fox affiliate WTHI reported.
According to Hoosier Aviation co-founder Jordan Brown, a pilot's lounge and rest and relaxation areas were added to the airport to make it more suitable for traveling business professionals.
"There's lots of air traffic flying from East or West Coast and they can't make it all the way and they stop places for fuel, it's what they call a quick turn," Jordan said. "They want fuel, restroom, a break and then they are right back out again."
Also looking to improve efficiency and comfort for travelers, Starr Companies recently launched a safety manager mentoring program for its aviation customers. The program utilizes a certified safety professional to assist the insured's safety manager. The program aims to identify and fill in knowledge gaps in an effort to improve the company's safety management system.
Another safety feature important to any pilot or airlines is pilot insurance. This financial product can protect companies and individuals from financial hardship due to mishaps in the skies.
