The Illinois Division of Aeronautics recently named the Quad City International Airport as Illinois Primary Airport of the Year.
The Quad City Airport in partnership with the Division of Aeronautics recently completed the Runway 9/27 Reconstruction Taxiway P project, which took more than three years. Susan Shea, director of the Division of Aeronautics, accredited the success of the project and working relationship and coordination between the partnership to Quad City Airports Director of Aviation Bruce Carter.
"It's a very exciting time to be accepting this award," said Carter. "We would not have received this award if it weren't for the hard work of all of the MAA employees, the airport authority board members and all of the tenants. The partnership we have with the Division of Aeronautics and the FAA is critical to the infrastructure improvements we have made over the last several years and months."
As of May 2, Carter took office as the Chair of the American Association of Airport Executives. Carter and has been with the Quad City International Airport since 1999.
