Rally against Obama's stance on private corporate jets

Some sectors of the general aviation industry, particularly those in Wichita, Kansas, vehemently oppose statements made by President Obama and his proposed intention to remove tax incentives that encourage private business jet purchases.
The Wichita Business Journal reports that Kansas Governor Sam Brownback recently led a rally in support of the general aviation industry. The rally was attended by many state and local officials, as well as representatives from the aviation industry and workers. The primary focus of the rally was to call on the president to stop targeting the general aviation industry.
Brownback stated Obama "is using business jets as political pawns. We're standing here united today to send the message … This is a key American business and a key Kansas business."
Kansas' Fourth District Congressman, Mike Pompeo, attended the event from Washington, D.C., via satellite. According to the source, Pompeo is disappointed with the current administration's stance, and plans to voice his concerns to Ray LaHood, the U.S. Transportation Secretary, later this week.
The Federal Aviation Administration reports that in 2010, there were 220,008 private and 139,100 commercial pilots in the United States. Flying can be a dangerous business, and aviators can protect their assets by engaging in estate planning for pilots.
