Two new members join Air Elite Network

Officials from Lehigh Valley International Airport in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Cyril E. King Airport in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, have recently joined the Air Elite Network.
With the announcement, the Lehigh Valley Aviation Services became the first Air Elite fixed-based operation owned and operated by a municipality.
“All of us at Lehigh Valley Aviation Services are excited to be part of the Air Elite network,” said Darren Betters, Lehigh Valley International Airport’s director of commercial services. "We feel that the combination of World Fuel Services and the Phillips 66 brand gives us the tools we need to grow our business now and position ourselves for future success. We look forward to partnering with other Air Elite members to establish Air Elite as the premier name in FBO services."
The St. Thomas Jet Center also reached its own milestone, being named the first Air Elite member in the Caribbean.
Fixed based operations have significantly increased at Long Island MacArthur Airport in New York this year. Officials at the airport said that flights fromsmaller planes have increased by 33 percent in the first nine months of 2012 compared to the same period of time in 2011.
With the latest Air Elite announcement, the two airports hope to increase general aviation traffic with FBO services. Pilots in general aviation should also remember pilot life insurancebefore taking to the skies.
