CAE has acquired Oxford Aviation Academy for C$314 million. CAE is looking to increase its presence as a global leader in civil aviation training with the acquisition of the industry-leading aviation training and crew services provider.
"We are very excited about this acquisition, as it enables us to offer our customers more locations and additional training capacity as well as a new service for pilot and maintenance crew sourcing,” said Marc Parent, CAE's president and CEO. “We have greatly enhanced CAE's industry-leading position with the addition of two of the industry's strongest brands in Ab-Initio aviation training and crew sourcing: Oxford Aviation Academy and Parc Aviation. Civil aerospace market fundamentals are strong and we are increasing our position at an opportune time.”
Through the acquisition, CAE is adding seven training centers to its already-extensive network. Four centers will operate as CAE Oxford Aviation Academy and will have the ability to train 600 cadets every year, increasing their training capacity 67 percent to 1,500 cadets. The other three centers under the CAE Parc Aviation will provide service offerings to other airlines and leasing companies.
