The dates for next year's U.S. Sport Aviation Expo have been set, according to a recent release from the organization. From January 20-23, Florida's Sebring Regional Airport will play host to aircraft manufacturers and pilot supply companies. The 2011 expo focuses on light sport aircraft and the certification of pilots who want to fly them. Exhibitors at past expos included dealers offering aircraft, electronics, parts and supplies for aviators. Pilot insurance providers were also featured, as were other financial institutions. "After the 2010 show, we contacted nearly every exhibitor to solicit comments for improvement," said expo chairman Bob Wood. "Quite a number of these comments will be implemented for the 2011 show." Last year's expo featured almost 175 exhibitors who came from both other countries and 38 states within the union. Along with supplies, people who attend may be able to test out planes while deciding whether to buy them. Recently, Florida Governor Charlie Crist signed a law that allows out-of-state aircraft to avoid a 6 percent use tax. As a result, more pilots may be encouraged to visit the state and contribute to local businesses and airports.
