In 1981, Carl Campbell formed Executive Flight, a private business aircraft company designed to service business travelers, according to The Wenatchee World. Campbell's experience in the real estate business, along with his love of aviation, allowed him to recognize the distinct advantage that air travel provided for business travelers. Since the company's inception, its scope has grown considerably, but its direction remains driven by a passion for flying.
Many of Campbell's real estate ventures in the 1970s involved nursing homes and elder care facilities. With this experience, Campbell was also able to expand his business to the medical field. By 1999, according to the source, Executive Flight had assumed all organ transport flights in Alaska, Montana, Oregon and Washington.
"For a lot of companies that do business, a company like us can take them close to where they need to be," Todd Loomer, Executive Flight's director of operations, told the source. "They don’t have to check in at the airline and then rent a car to go on the rest of their trip."
Many contract pilots take out a pilot insurance policy if their employers do not provide a comprehensive insurance plan for aviators. Pilot insurance policies are tailored specifically to the needs of pilots and the risks they take in flight.
