iFly GPS gets update

Adventure Pilot recently released its Version 7 Software Update for the iFly GPS. The new additions include terrain/obstructions, vertical flight planning and an active alerting system.
The new iFly is up for sale will have the update included in the device, and for those who already have it, the Version 7 software download can improve upon it. Air Adventure claims the technology is the most affordable GPS for pilots.
"Each iFly GPS is a robust 7-inch dedicated aviation GPS built for the harsh elements that come with flying," reads the company's website. "[It offers] superior reception, extreme operating temperature ranges and the features a pilot needs at a fraction of the competition’s price. Even updates are affordable."
Terrain mode allows pilots a perspective of upcoming terrain and provides alerts to the pilot with relaxed, moderate, strict or disabled warning signs.
The advanced collision avoidance is based on FAA standards to maximize safety while minimizing nuisance alerts.
Vertical flight planning mode provides a reference terrain for pilots, who can also customize the flight plan relative to numerous variables.
