The Italian aerospace group Magnaghi, which manufactures the Sky Arrow aircraft series, recently debuted the Sky Arrow light-sport aircraft at the Experimental Aviation Association's AirVenture.
The new plane features extended wing tanks, modified aerodynamics on the stabilizer and new leaf-spring landing gear. The plane will also include Beringer wheels and 10 brakes, along with a redesigned instrument panel with the 10-inch Dynon SkyView system.
The new plane is white with navy blue fuselage stripes. It has a matte blue interior, and company officials said traditional Italian red will be available by request.
Magnaghi also recently introduced the Sky Arrow AWP-ONE. The ONE stands for observation, news and law enforcement, and it allows sensors to be set for terrain mapping, environmental research and wildlife detection.
“We are on a dual track for both the recreational and professional market,” said Giorgio Lannotti, Magnaghi’s chief operating officer.
In other news from the AirVenture event, Daher-Socata's senior vice president, Nicholas Chabbert, announced that more than 600 single-engine turboprop TBM 700 and TBM 850 have accounted for nearly 1 million flight hours. He also announced that the TBM 850 Elite was certified and that 45 aircraft, representing 10 percent of the global fleet, are on hand at AirVenture.
For those in the aviation industry, pilot insurance is a viable option before taking to the skies, no matter how many hours have been logged.
