The day many general aviation pilots have been waiting for is finally here. Pilots don't have to rely in small screens on their cell phones or blackberries anymore. WingX is now available on the Apple iPad.
The iPad's 9.7-inch screen makes it easier for pilots to see the most up-to-date GPS images.
The latest version of WingX available on the iPad has been updated. Hilton Software, WingX's maker, says it has enhanced the product to include geo-referenced approach plates and a moving map and flight planning tools.
Pilots can use the app to better plan their flight trips. The latest version of WinX also includes weather data and enhanced route planning tools.
"My vision for the company is to provide affordable systems that rival and in many cases surpass dedicated hardware units from the big-name GPS companies," says founder and CEO Hilton Goldstein. "I predict WingX Pro7 will start a trend, particularly in the LSA market, of aircraft manufacturers mounting aniPad on the panel instead of installing a much more expensive in-panel unit costing thousands of dollars."
