The Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, recently called for enlisted personnel in the Navy and Marine Corps to apply for the 2013 season. Sailors from multiple aviation platforms can apply for the team; however certain credentials are required prior to joining.
Opportunities available on the team include aviation electronics technician, aviation maintenance administration and mass communication specialist. Blue Angels team members must have a strong work ethic, superior communication skills, enthusiasm to join the team and represent the armed forces, as well as a desire to uphold the traditions of the Blue Angels.
"The Blue Angels Navy and Marine Corps members are all about team work," said Yoshimi Core, Blue Angels command master chief. "Ultimately, you can be the best technician in the world, but if you do not thrive on teamwork, you are not the right fit for this team.
The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aviation leaders have also published the latest edition of the "Naval Aviation Vision" book, which presents a reflection of how naval aviation has evolved and will continue to grow with changing international responsibilities and national imperatives, Defence Professionals reported.
The book is a collaboration of views from a variety of branches of the armed forces, and aims to represent naval aviation's recapitalization and modernization plans for the future. The book also highlights the Navy's contributions toward readiness to protect our nation in the event of an attack. The U.S. Department of Defense is making strides in advancing and sustaining naval aviation warfighting capabilities for now and in the future, the source reported.
