The European Aviation Safety Agency recently granted a supplemental type certificate so new winglets could be installed on aircrafts. The high-Mach blended winglets are manufactured by Aviation Partners at its Geneva Airport facility, according to AINOnline.com. The winglets will be installed on the Falcon 2000/2000EX and 900."We'd like to highlight that the repaint is part of TAG's integrated offer with the winglet retrofit," Philippe Rabier, maintenance sales director for TAG Aviation Europe, told AINOnline.com.Rabier added that the installation for the 2000 and 900 models will total somewhere between $850,000 and $950,000, depending on aircraft configuration and associated work, the source reported.Boeing has recently been in hot water as a result of a battery problem that occurred on a January flight. Considering the new technology that is being implemented in aircrafts and the safety of passengers and pilots being at risk, aviators should ensure they are covered with pilot insurance, which could give them comfort knowing expenses will be taken care of in the event of unfortunate circumstances.
