FAA investigates canceled flight from North Dakota

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a flight headed from Grand Forks, North Dakota, to Minneapolis, Minnesota, that was canceled when a flight attendant was removed from their position.
Elizabeth Cory, FAA spokeswoman, told The Associated Press that the cancellation of Delta Connection 3743 is being looked into after a flight attendant was fired prior to takeoff. It is unclear as to why the flight attendant was let go, but the pilot and copilot are not under investigation. The 30 passengers on board the plane were placed on later flights after the cancellation.
According to the Park Rapids Enterprise, a passenger on the plane saw a female flight attendant being escorted to the administrative offices in the airport terminal, and one of the pilots informed the passenger the situation was a personnel issue. Joe Williams, spokesman for Pinnacle Airlines, said the investigation involves the sole flight attendant that was scheduled to work the flight but was removed from her duties before getting on the plane. The delay was necessary to keep passengers safe while the situation is being investigated and until a replacement flight attendant could come in to replace the relieved one.
To keep the skies even safer, pilots should invest in pilot insurance so unexpected events do not lead to financial hardship.
