International flight system streamlined

Aircraft that are registered outside of the U.S. will have a new, easier set of rules to follow next time they fly into the country. The new procedures set forth by the Transportation Security Administration will allow those who are using company-owned airplanes for business to bypass the traditional waiver process, reports the National Business Aviation Association.
The traditional waiver process can be lengthy. According to the TSA, those wishing to fly into the country need to allow five to seven days for all the necessary paperwork to be gone over.
Instead of going through the waiver process, TSA will gather information through an electronic system. The NBAA says that the new process will be more cost-effective and reduce delays.
"Companies across the world that rely on business aviation will welcome today's announcement, because it recognizes the importance of international commerce to the U.S., and the central role of business aviation in driving that economic activity," says NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. "This change will greatly reduce the barriers while maintaining essential security for companies wanting to bring their business and investment to the U.S."
