A vintage plane crash in Dickens County, Texas, during the afternoon hours of March 27 has left three dead, according to the Associated Press.
The news source reported that the 1946 Stinson 108 aircraft crashed into a field, killing the pilot and two passengers. Nobody else was reportedly on board the plane.
The aircraft was reportedly traveling from a private airfield near Dickens and had an intended destination of Rockdale, about 370 miles away.
Though the source says the names of those on board have not been release, the aircraft was reportedly registered to a man from Dickens. The cause of the crash is yet to be determined, but the National Transportation Safety Board is continuing to investigate.
Vintage aircraft are not the only type vulnerable to these types of seemingly unexplainable fatal accidents. All aircraft carry potential risks, and pilots should protect themselves with pilot life insurance no matter what type of plane they fly. Life insurance for pilots can be used to provide for pilots' families in the event that they are involved in a fatal accident.
