Aerospace jobs could be headed to Georgia

When the economy began to slide several years ago, the impact on people's lives was devastating. Recovery has been slow, but signs are emerging that job development is taking place.
Georgia is one state where this is happening. Boeing has announced 370 jobs will be added to the state if the Boeing NewGen Tanker is selected by the Air Force.
Not only would the project bring hundreds of employment opportunities, but the surrounding areas would also see an economic boost. It's estimated that $17 million would be pumped into the community.
Boeing Tanker Programs supplier management director Mark DeVoss says Georgia and the military will both benefit from the agreement.
"The Boeing NewGen Tanker program will contribute to economic recovery in Georgia by supporting jobs in the aerospace industry - jobs for Georgia workers who will help America's warfighters complete their missions and return home safely," says DeVoss.
This isn't the first time Boeing has created new jobs in a city. The airplane company has helped generate jobs and revenue in many areas across the country. The unemployment rate has stayed around 10 percent for much of the past year nationwide, so the opportunity to have a company bring a number of jobs is seen as favorable.
