According to Aircraft Maintenance Online, Cirrus Aircraft, a Duluth, Minnesota, based company that opened in 1999, recently celebrated the delivery of its 5,000th airplane, a Cirrus SR22T sold to Joe Whisenhunt, a pilot from Little Rock, Arkansas. An avid flier and repeat Cirrus customer, Whisenhunt also plans to purchase the company's newest personal jet when it reaches production.
"We are truly excited and humbled to be delivering the 5,000th Cirrus aircraft," said Dale Klapmeier, CEO of Cirrus Aircraft. "When we started, we dreamed of building airplanes that made people's lives easier and better. Five thousand aircraft later, we're proud of this achievement and we will continue to improve upon that dream."
Cirrus airplanes are known as luxury crafts that provide a pilot-friendly flying experience. The planes feature luxurious cockpit interiors tailored to functionality and pilot comfort, and advanced safety features, like the company's FAA-certified Cirrus Airframe Parachute System.
Pilots who purchase their own planes will likely subscribe to a pilot insurance policy. Whether applying for coverage that will insure an airplane or a pilot insurance policy that will provide financial support for benefactors, aviators may want to consult a pilots association to make sure they get the best coverage at the best rate.
