Some pilots may find themselves taking a new route this fall. Allegiant Airlines recently announced it will be offering nonstop jet service between Minot, North Dakota and Las Vegas. The flights are scheduled to depart twice a week.
Allegiant specializes in offering low-cost travel for those in small cities to major destinations. The airline company says adding Las Vegas to their list of destinations seems like a natural step forward.
Minot International Airport director Andrew Solsvig says he is pleased Allegiant will be providing the service out of the airport.
"After recently starting new airline service and two new hub markets that increased daily seats by more than 50 percent, Las Vegas service became our next goal," said Solsvig. "This new air service announcement represents Allegiant's confidence in this market. The Minot community and region will now have access to one of the best leisure destinations on the planet."
Ealier this year, Allegiant Travel made the list of Fortune's "100 Fastest Growing Companies." The company was founded in 1997 and has experienced great growth since then.
