Aviation and aerospace important to the US economy

Tal-Tech Alliance and the Leon County Economic Development Council recently hosted a roundtable discussion in Florida of business and academic leaders interested in the future of aviation and aerospace in the state. Topics addressed at the discussion included research, investment, exploration and commerce, as the aviation industry is expected to remain a valuable component to the U.S. economy.
"People love aviation and aerospace; there's a lot of interest in it," Bob VanRiper, chairman of the roundtable, told WCTV. "Not a lot of people involved in it, but, people really want to see it be successful and continue to be a leading industry for Florida and for the United States."
Aviation is valuable to the U.S. economy as well as other aspects of communities to keep residents safe. The Gadsden Times reported that the Alabama State Trooper aviation unit played an integral role in the rescue of a woman and her two children from a Jeep that was stranded in the middle of a flooding river.
According to the source, the overflowing river made it impossible for other rescue teams to reach the mother and children from the ground. Rather, the troopers had to lower a ladder above the Jeep enabling the rescue team to reach the people from the skies.
While aviation is used to help protect the public from harm, pilot insurance is used to protect pilots from unexpected accidents in the sky.
