ST Aerospace and Aeroism Technology recently announced they will be working together to develop advanced maintenance training systems. The companies aim to establish maintenance training centers all over the world at Aeroism academies and ST Aerospace's training centers.
Both companies will contribute to the development of training curriculum, including training software for basic engineering coursework certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and European Aviation Safety Agency.
"We are faced with a global technician shortage, a problem that can only be solved by looking at alternative training methods and technologies," said Dave Rapley, CEO of Aeroism.
Aviation education programs are also being encouraged by the director of transportation for the North Central Texas Council of Governments, Michael Morris. At the council's fifth annual summit, Morris and other state leaders proposed a four-year degree program in aviation be available at local colleges to promote aviation in the state. Looking at other states including Arizona, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Mississippi, which all offer aviation programs from four-year colleges, the officials brainstormed over the idea of boosting the economy through aviation development, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
One aspect of aviation all pilots are taught is the importance of pilot insurance to protect against the unexpected.
