Blogger predicts changes for aviation industry

The future of general aviation may look different this year than it has in the past, according to a Forbes blog post by Allen Howell.
In his post, Howell discusses how the U.S. has many aircraft, but that many are not in regular use. His writing details ways to stop the aircraft from being an "idle" good and be something more useful. He goes on to contemplate how open-minded people would be to sharing flights with people they've only seen using social media platforms.
Howell also notes that while drastic changes to the way people use general aviation and travel aren't likely to happen right away, the landscape could be very different a few years from now.
Change to the aviation industry isn't a new concept. Industry leaders have been grappling with high fuel costs and safety concerns for years.
In terms of pilots, professionals have also been trying to figure out how to keep numbers up. Many different research studies indicate that a large percentage of those who enroll in flight school don't complete the program.
