FAA's annual GA survey to begin in April

The Federal Aviation Administration's 33rd annual general aviation survey will begin in April, according to the Experimental Aircraft Association.
Officially titled the Part 135 Activity Survey, the goal of the study is to collect safety information from pilots and others involved in the GA field, in order to have accurate self-reported statistics for accident rates.
However, the survey may also be used by the FAA in order to make GA -related decisions, the source suggests.
"The survey is the only source of information on the GA fleet, comprising number of hours flown and the ways people use their aircraft," according to the EAA. "Survey results help determine funding for infrastructure and service needs, assess the impact of regulatory changes, and measure aviation safety."
Having this safety information can also alert the FAA to aircraft issues that they may be unaware of, because they were previously unreported. There are numerous hazards facing aviators which is why pilot life insurance is an important precaution, as some dangers remain unknown until after a fatal accident has occurred.
