Harrison Ford makes an appearance at AOPA event

Playing a swashbuckling spacecraft pilot made Harrison Ford a household name, and he's taking that fame to help the cause of general aviation.
According to Maryland's Frederick News-Post, the star of Star Wars and Indiana Jones flew into the town to talk aviation with employees of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. The AOPA has put forward an initiative highlighting the importance of small-scale aviation in the form of the General Aviation Serves America campaign.
Ford has worked with the organization in order to promote the campaign by lending his face to its efforts. He told the AOPA employees that he is proud of his association with the organization.
"It's an honor for me to work with the people who have already made a huge difference in the capacity of general aviation," the paper quoted Ford as saying.
The AOPA noted last year that general aviationcontributes about $150 billion into the nation's economy every year. Furthermore, it provides an economic benefit to smaller communities and supplies more than a million jobs across the country.
