Large order for Boeing aircraft cancelled

The economic downturn has been difficult for many people. Large numbers of workers have suddenly found themselves out of work and many businesses have reported sluggish sales. Apparently Boeing isn't immune to a drop in business, either.
Recently, Dubai Aerospace cancelled 25 aircraft orders from Boeing. The Mercury News reports that 15 of those cancellations were for the company's 787 jet. While Dubai Aerospace hasn't said why they have cancelled the order, the loss will affect Boeing.
The untimely cancellation could result in a big financial loss for the aircraft maker. The Mercury News says that the 787 goes from anywhere between $150 million to $205.5 million depending on the specific model and make of the airplane.
According to Boeing's website, the 787 can carry up to 250 passengers and is highly fuel-efficient. The company says that General Electric and Rolls-Royce have developed the engine for the airplane, making it 8 percent more fuel-efficient than other models.
Boeing has been creating commercial jetliners for the past 40 years and makes several other models besides the 787.
