The Lindbergh Foundation is celebrating its 35th anniversary with a gala event at the Explorers Club in New York on May 18.
The black-tie event suggests $1,000 donation in order to obtain the few tickets still available and will feature special guest speakers, Apollo astronauts Neil Armstrong, Jim Lovell and Gene Cernan.
"I can't think of a more compelling roster of speakers to help us celebrate our anniversary," said Larry Williams, chairman of the foundation, told AVweb. "All of them encourage us to remember the significance of the contributions made by Charles and Anne Morrow Lindbergh to our lives today, 85 years after the historic New York-to-Paris flight."
The Lindbergh Foundation has three major programs to honor Charles and Anne Morrow Lindbergh’s legacy of balancing nature and technology.
Aviation Green Alliance provides aviation and environment-related news and information, funds research for greener aviation technologies and harnesses education efforts in reducing aviation’s environmental footprint. Lindbergh grants award $10,580 to individuals who improve the quality of life through balancing technological advancements and environmental preservation. And every year the Lindbergh Award is given out to an individual who adheres to the Lindbergh legacy.
