New Jersey to induct four into aviation hall of fame

According to newspaper website MyCentralJersey.com, four people are about to join the state's aviation hall of fame. One of them is Aline Rhonie, who was one of the first women to take to the air and who live in Warren, New Jersey. She was born in 1909 and took part in air defense programs along with relief efforts for Britain during World War II. Furthermore, Rhonie learned how to paint from famous artist Diego Rivera. She painted a mural at Roosevelt Field on Long Island in New York. It has since been transferred to the Aeronautics & Technology section of Vaughn College in Queens, New York.
Other people that will be inducted include Mark Polansky, a shuttle commander for NASA, along with Mitchell Stoddard and William DeCota. The former worked to promote aviation in the state, and the latterworked as an airport planner. Recently, Missouri added James McDonnell, a leader in the history of aviation who founded the famous company that shares his name. McDonnell was inducted into the Hall of Famous Missourians on April 12, 2010, and joined the likes of President Harry S. Truman and scientist Edwin Hubble.
