Airplanes can certainly draw a crowd, and a group of them was on hand at a customer appreciation day at a Home Depot in Zanesville, Ohio, according to the Times Recorder newspaper. A total of 10 planes arrived weaving their way around signs and other obstacles to find their way to entertain customers. Along with the planes, the events featured food, demonstrations and prizes. Norman Aviation, which is located at Parr Airport, took part in the event, put on by the Home Depot in an effort to give back to the community. Valerie Norman noted that although the airport has been around for more than three decades, some people in the area may not know about it. "We just want to promote general aviation to the community," Norman told the newspaper Keeping people aware of the role a local airport can play in a community is one of the ways people in general aviation can improve interest in their activities. The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association noted that one way to do so is to hold an open house at the airport, which will give people in the area a chance to check out its activities.
