Plane crashes into Pennsylvania barn

November 18, 2011, 05:21 pm

A twin-engine plane recently slammed into a barn in Harrison Township, Pennsylvania, but the four people on board were able to get out of the plane themselves.

According to WIVB, the state police that responded to the crash said the four occupants on the plane were able to free themselves from the plane and walk out of the barn before it caught fire and became engulfed in flames.

The plane was traveling from Buffalo to Delaware when it crashed into the barn. Three of the passengers suffered minor injuries, but one passenger had to be flown to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The barn was unoccupied at the time of the crash, the source reported. In these types of incidents, owning pilot insurance can help individuals pay for any damages or injuries that occur.

Shirley VanPelt, owner of the barn, told the Wellsville Daily Reporter she heard the crash and it made her house shake. The windows of her barn had already exploded by the time she reached it.
