Small plane makes emergency landing on street

A small plane recently experienced engine trouble, forcing the pilot to land on a Longmont street in Colorado. The pilot was able to avoid streetlights, trees and traffic, as he safely landed the plane without injuring his daughter on board.
Denver ABC affiliate KMGH reported the Archer II had engine trouble, and the pilot radioed the Federal Aviation Administration to inform it of the emergency landing at the Longmount airport. However, as the pilot approached the airport, he continued to lose control of the plane and landed on the busy Hover Street.
A passerby actually helped the pilot push the plane out of traffic and into a parking lot nearby until safety officials arrived, the source reported. This miraculous landing left no damage to the plane or harm to the passengers, but investing in pilot insurance is always a good idea in case an emergency land ended in damage and bills.
The Huffington Post reported the pilot and his daughter were flying back to Boulder from Plattsmouth, Nebraska, when the plane started to malfunction. The air traffic controllers directed the pilot to land in Vance Brand Airport in Longmont, but the plane did not hold up long enough to reach the airport. After dodging traffic, lights and trees, the plane was safely grounded and the pilot was able to push the plane off the road.
