Young workers show dissatisfaction working in aerospace and defense

With unemployment still high, it may be hard for some to believe that there may actually be an entire industry looking for qualified employees. This, however, is the potential reality for the aerospace and defense industry.
Aviation Week recently released the results from their Workforce Study and found that more than 40 percent of young professionals said they are looking for a new job.
In addition to a staggering number of young employees indicating that they plan on leaving their current employer, the industry is also concerned that a potentially large number of older employees will potentially retire in the near future.
Workforce Study advisory board member Lee Palmer asserts that the aviation industry may run short of employees if things don't change.
"If this attrition trend continues to rise and an economic uptick triggers those of retirement age to leave, the industry could be in a serious situation with gaps on both ends of the employment spectrum."
Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics reveals that job prospects are expected to remain strong for those interested in scientific research and development.
