Pilots and other aviation enthusiasts will flock to air shows across the country this summer to get a first-hand look at everything from historic planes to some of the most skilled aerial maneuvers possible.
For example, a recent Boston Herald report noted that the 20th annual Rhode Island National Guard Air Show featured pilot Sean Tucker, an inductee of the National Aviation Hall of Fame who reportedly took his first stunt class in 1973 as a way to conquer his fear of flying.
"Twenty-four thousand hours of flying time later, I'm more in love with it than anything else - except for my wife and kids, of course," the newspaper quoted Tucker as saying.
Elsewhere, Minnesota's West Central Tribune newspaper features the Ray Fagen Memorial Air Show, which will highlight historic World War II era aircraft, complete with re-enactors wearing period Allied and German uniforms.
Another air show being held this weekend is in San Carlos, California, where the Hiller Aviation Museum is holding its "Vertical Challenge" event, complete with four U.S. Marine Harrier jump jets.
