Electric aircraft more eco-friendly

It's no secret that airplanes require a lot of fuel to operate. With environmental concerns still on the minds of many, some have been thinking of ways to make the flying more environmentally friendly.
One way to do that is through electric aviation. Yuneec's E430 is a top-performing model that won the Lindbergh Electric Aircraft award at this years AirVenture show.
The aircraft seats two and according to their website, features "low noise, no emissions, no fuel, and extremely low maintenance."
At the World Electric Aircraft Symposium, Erik Lindbergh presented the award to the company for their contribution to the advancement of aircraft technology.
"We are witnessing the dawn of a new era in aviation technology," said Lindbergh. "As pilots, we need to take the initiative to find sustainable alternatives for the future of aviation."
Making airplanes even marginally more environmentally friendly can have a huge impact. Eco-friendly news website thedailygreen reports that some estimate that upwards of 11 percent of greenhouse gases come from aircraft. While people are always going to travel, they can reduce their carbon footprint by selecting the most eco-friendly options available.
