Fly-in show in New York attracts large crowd

A recent air show hosted by the local chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association in Waterlivet, New York, drew about 2,000 spectators to the Waterlivet Airport to see rare, vintage and experimental airplanes in flight and on display, according to Insurance News Net.
Some of the most popular attractions included Stearman instructional biplanes used to train fighter pilots in World War II, as well as a Vought F4U Corsair, an iconic, mid-century naval fighter plane and one of the first aircraft to be launched from an aircraft carrier.
Local pilots and aviation enthusiasts organized the event, and say that military airshows like this help connect people to history in a unique way.
"It's a great event for kids or anybody interested in history," Al Hartline of the Waterlivet EAA told the source. He added that while the historical value was unparallelled, the price associated with owning, maintaining and flying a vintage military aircraft is often restrictive, and many pilots are forced to limit the number of fly-in events they attend each year.
Many aviators subscribe to pilot insurance plans to both ensure life coverage designed for pilots and the unique risks that come with flight and to protect their equipment as an investment. Because products like term insurance for pilots are such specific offerings, consulting a pilot organization like the EAA is a good way to begin researching providers and rates.
